today i found a shop modeled after the chocolate store in chocolat. twas wonderful. really wonderful. i want to work there now
today i took pictures and gave a dollar and fifty-six cents to a street violinist playing just outside said chocolate shop. and i thought, i want to be a musician and stand on street corners and play, just so people can hear, you know? and i decided, the violin is the most beautiful instrument, physically, that i've ever seen. i still want a lute, though.
today i saw a movie and today i saw someone's heart break. again.
today i bought a book called 'how to be an explorer of the world' and i read a few others like it in the bookshop because i didn't have the money to buy them all. some really beautiful ideas in there. it's mostly about noticing things. really seeing things. seeing people. today i smiled at a man who was sitting on the sidewalk and singing, and he smiled back, and i felt happy. he may have been a creeper or a nut job or any number of things, i don't know. but i smiled at him and it felt nice.
today i bought some socks and purple arm warmers.
today i felt poetic, or crazy, or maybe they're the same thing. and today i decided i needed a new journal, and this is what came out.

"is the search for god absurd?"
"it is if everyone dies alone."

"Where?"
"Oh, wherever men of my sort used to go, long ago. Wandering on paths that other men have not seen. Behind the sky. On the other side of the rain."
